Mr. Planchon, French botanist of the seventeenth century, reports that in the Far East, a drop of Cajeput essential oil is poured into tea in case of nervousness or rheumatic pain. Dr. Jean Valnet, in the twentieth century, allocates to the essential oil of Cajeput an antimicrobial action with a broad spectrum, at the pulmonary, intestinal and urinary level. It also attributes antispasmodic and deworming properties.
